Welcome to Aikido Nippon Kan - Wisconsin!

Aikido
Nippon Kan was founded in 1978 by Gaku
Homma Sensei, who was a student of Aikido founder
Morihei Ueshiba, as well as other high-ranking instructors, at
the Iwama dojo in Japan. Homma Sensei was the last official uchideshi
(live-in student) at Iwama dojo and is the best testimonial to the
founder’s private life at Iwama during the last years of his
life. After the founder’s death, Homma Sensei moved to the United
States and opened his independent dojo in Denver, CO.

Carlos Frick, Ik kyu.
Carlos started Aikido in May of 2005.
Carlos interest for the martial arts started very early being first instroduced to Katate Do and then practicing Tae Kwon Do during his time in the Venezuelan Army.
Even though Carlos had wanted to practice Aikido for quite some time, it wasn't until 2005 when he finally had the opportunity of joining an Aikido dojo.
Carlos found the training at Nippon Kan, enfasizing the co-rrelation between weapons and hands free training as developed by Gakku Homma Sensei, highly interesting and has, ever since, worked hard in developing his Aikido on this basis. |
